Race practice

Lemmy attended his first race meet at the lovely sand track in Jacksonville. He went to practice on Friday and it didn’t take long for him to figure it out. The first two tries he wasn’t sure what was going on and didn’t chase the rail lure. The third try I ran 1/4 way down the track and he ran to me as the lure went by. The last time he totally ignored me and blew past me following the lure. When we practiced on Sunday I was able to release him and he was going nuts wanting the lure and followed it all the way around the corner. Many thanks to Mike Hattery and Allie Smith for helping me get him started. Box breaking next!

Lemmy 8.5 months

The pictures could be better – he was tense because he thought I was going to toss him in the pool.

Lemmy’s First Show

Suwannee Valley Kennel Club under Judge Scott Deans Lemmy went RWD at his first show! There were 4 dogs shown today so he actually did beat two, it wasn’t by default. I got some nice compliments on him and he got to meet some breeds he’d never seen before. The best part of the trip was NO PUKING either there or on the way back – yay! I forgot how many ill tempered dogs you see at dogs show (not whippets) had several dogs ringside rocking their crates every time another dog walked by. All in all, a good morning.

Upcoming Shows & Events

Lemmy is entered in the Suwannee Valley Kennel Club of Florida 10/16/2010 in Lake City, FL. We will also be attending the SOMOS Notra meet in Jacksonville on Sunday the 31st, and possibly Saturday if the concert Friday night doesn’t run super late.
